February 29 is tacked onto the calendar every four years to reconcile the human concept of time with the movement of the sun. Leap pays homage to this human desire to transform nature with our own curious frameworks. The work in Leap examines, encases and transforms nature as seen, sensed and imagined.
The show includes vivid, atmospheric encaustics by Taleen Batalian, three-dimensional, organic mixed media by April Clay , rhythmic and turbulent mixed media by Nathan Miner, and deconstructed environmental photographs by Jim Ospenson .
